Clues

Walk distance: about 0.5 mile round trip
Trail difficulty: fairly easy, dirt and rocky desert trail

The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in Joshua Tree National Park in southern California. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp and sign the log book.

Enter Joshua Tree National Park and drive to the trailhead for the Arch Rock Nature Trail which is in the White Tank Campground. Drive into the campground and when the pavement ends, turn left and drive a short distance to the day parking on the left. The trailhead is across the road from the parking.

At the start of the trail look for an interpretive sign titled “Arch Rock Geology”. In the 2nd paragraph, in the 3rd line, what is 7th (last) word?

Start walking on the trail. Look for the interpretive sign titled “Dikes”. What is the last word on the sign?

To create the mystery word, put the word from the second question on the end of the word from the first question (without spaces). Paste the mystery word into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):

http://members.cox.net/azroadie66/???.html

Now, plug/paste the new URL into your web browser and you will have completed your search for the Joshua Tree Park Webbox.

Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ or at www.atlasquest.com/ .
