Driving directions to the George Landis Arboretum: From Albany, take Route 20 west to Duanesburg, or take I-90 west to exit 25A (I-88 west) then to exit 24/Duanesburg. Take Route 20 west 6 miles through Duanesburg to Esperance. Turn at the Town Hall onto Charleston Street which turns into Conover Road. There is a green sign for Landis on Route 20 by this road. Follow for 1.4 miles. The road bears right 90 degrees at one point. Turn right onto Lape Road. There is a sign for Landis and a dead end sign. Park in the main parking lot, which is .3 miles down on your left.
For more information about programs, facilities, plant sales, etc. go to http://www.landisarboretum.org/
Clues: Behind the information sign (and a place to leave a donation), walk up the hill through the Quarry Garden. Towards the top, bear left and look for a stump appropriate for oratory. Look directly south and see your own stump. Inside, under 2 rocks, is the spirit of the arboretum. Benches conveniently located nearby for stamping. Please rehide carefully.
Hope you enjoy this beautiful place.
