My husband and I believe in adopting your pets from an animal shelter if at all possible. As you can tell from our trail name, Guinea Pigs Rule!, we love guinea pigs. We have had many over the years and all except the first two have been adopted. Our latest, Jodie, was adopted from the Medfield Animal Shelter. They are a great small shelter who treat their animals very well. They have all sorts; cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and birds. This letterbox is a tribute to them and all the wonderful people helping needy animals. If they are open stop in and say hello to the animals!

From Medfield center take Route 27 North, take a left at the second light which is West Street. After a short distance you will see two mailboxes on the right, before the bridge over the Charles River. One is black and the other white with a cat and dog on top. Turn down this road, the waste treatment plant is also down this road, cross the RR tracks and park on the right near the animal shelter.

After parking, and with the shelter at your back, walk back up the road and turn right past the flag pole. The treatment pland should be on your right. Bear left onto the dirt road. The Charles River will be on your left. Go past a tall pine tree stump on the left with an easement sign on the top.Take the trail to the right up the hill, continue left at the fork, then left downhill to a large dirt turnaround.

The river will be ahead of you - "Let's keep the Charles River Clean" marks the hiding place. Please rehide well.

With the river at your back go right and follow the dirt road back to the animal shelter.
