Lacombe is located in central Alberta, Canada. It is halfway between Calgary and Edmonton and fifteen minutes north of Red Deer. Did you know Lacombe was the first capital of Alberta?

The 'Star Box' is dedicated to the fraternity of letterboxes. Enjoy!

Take Highway 12 East toward the Town of Lacombe off of Highway 2.

At the corner of 50th Avenue and 58th Street (the first set of lights as you enter Lacombe) turn right.

Continue past the Lacombe SDA Church and stop at the octagonal shaped sign. (approx .8 km)

Turn right on the C&E Trail (do not cross to the gravel road) and pass the AG Canada sign (it's grey). Turn right immediately past the second AG Canada sign (it's also grey!)

Follow the road toward the red-bricked building. Stay right. Go past the Canadian flag and you will come to a "T" in the road.

Turn left at the "T". There is a white house on your left on the corner.

Go until you reach the stop sign and the yellow fire hydrant.

Turn right and park.

Look for a hedged "hallway". Walk through. Upon exiting, turn right around three huge spruce trees. Line up with the Inukshuk. (Inuit welcome figure) and walk to it. Stop. When facing the Inukshuk turn about 100 degrees off south (you should be facing slightly right of a white house) and pace off 25 steps (hike up your socks, you may need to jump the little ditch!).

Happy hunting in the big evergreen bush! Good luck.

Thanks for putting the "Star Box" back!
