The Tunnel LbNA #48747

This stamp has been relocated as it keeps disappearing from previous location. From the view area on the west side of the tunnel, walk to the west end of parking area and very carefully cross the road. There is a small pull-out on the south side of Hiway 82 and you may be able to park there if you would prefer. Traffic is fast and visibility is very limited, so please be careful. For years I have seen this little "grottoish" looking area, but have never stopped and taken a look. Imagine my surprise when I found another tunnel there! On your right is a large tree surrounded by many shrubs. I don't know what poison oak looks like, so be careful. This requires a little climbing as the tree is in a culvert. I made it with no problem, so it's not that hard. In the center of the tree you will find a SPOR. You can approach it from either side. Please re-hide well as I often see hikers and others coming through this area.
Oh, the other tunnel is at the North end of this culvert. Be careful, it's a long drop down...
