Skalkaho pass is one of our favorite spots. Not only for the gorgeous drive, but also for wildlife, mini waterfalls, Skalkaho falls, and also all the trails & camp grounds. Our family spends a lot of time in this area each summer. Stay a bit, find the other LB’s in the area (Skalkaho photo op & Water drop falls) and take a nice walk! The day we placed this, mosquito’s were out in droves (thanks to 3 weeks of rain!) Have fun!!!
Clues: Start up Skalkaho highway to the top of the pass. Park in the turn off by the pass elevation sign- 7250.
Look around and you will see a sign for the 2 closest towns. Walk towards it. You will see a pathway- follow it back 34 steps. Go 9 steps left. Look towards the road and take another 9 steps forward.
This should take you to a tree surrounded by stumps. In the crevice at the base of the big tree you will find what you're looking for.
