This letterbox is hidden on the Farms Trail. Go to Thoreson Rd. (north of Glen Arbor off M-22). Take Thoreson Rd. up 1/4 mile to the Bayview Trail Parking Lot. Park in the Lot and find the Farms Trail which will take you back across Thoreson Rd.
Go up the trail to find the first giant tree on your left. This tree is about 4 feet in diameter with several dying/broken limbs. Continue on the trail to the second giant tree, slightly smaller. Directly across the trail from this second tree, you will see a tree (about 20-30 feet off the trail) which has several branches down by it's base. Deer Horns is hidden under these branches.
After finding the letterbox, continue on the Farms Trail for a spectacular hike to the Ridge Trail and Lookout Point. This is a wonderful trail to hike in any season but be sure to bring bug spray in the summer!
