Mono Pond State Recreation Area
Hunt Road
Columbia
(2 1/2 x 2 1/2)

Make your way to Mono Pond Rec area on Hunt Road in Columbia. Park near the wooden sign board. Directly behind this you will see a yellow blazed trail.
** Waterproof shoes would probably be a good idea most times of the year for this one. **

Pups are allowed and mine really loved the water.

Please bring black ink with you.

Start off on the yellow blazed trail. A short way in, you will see a yellow dot connector trail on the right. These yellow dot trails connect with the trail closer to the water. There are two of them. Please stay to the left on the yellow blazed/rectangle trail.

You will be passing by a few unmarked trails on your left. Continue on the blazed yellow trail. It is very pretty up here.

Eventually you will get to where the yellow trail turns right and straight ahead is a red blazed trail. Go straight on the red trail.

Walk through a cut tree.

Then walk through a couple of wet areas on rocks.

Continue on until you come to a three sister Red Oak on your left with a fallen sister behind it.

You will know you are in the right spot if you see a house across the water that is surrounded by a white fence. If you come to a stone wall that crosses the trail you have gone too far.

Look under the fallen tree, at the backside of the large rock it is resting on, to find the wonderful Wyoming letterbox by Tai Chi & Chai Tea.

After stamping in and re-hiding well, retrace your steps back to the yellow trail. Now go left on yellow to finish your walk along the water. This will bring you back to the parking lot and your car.
