NOTE: BOX IS MISSING - box is not there only the rock. Checked under the bridge to see if the water floated down but the ditch has no water. Do not understand how it disappear there's no hole for it to go through. Will let you know when the box is back

Located at Manatee Park in Fort Myers. From I-75 exit 141 head East on Palm Beach Boulevard. Across from the power plant there is an entrance to Manatee Park. Parking fee is $1.00 per hour or $5.00 for the entire day. Trails are stroller friendly. It is a nice place to take the children. Park is open year round 8am to sunset. The gift shop and visitors center 9am to 4pm. You can also rent kayaks.

After paying the parking fee travel to the right of the main building, past the store, continuing down the path to the right, and to the manatee observation area. There are several lookout areas to admire the manatees. Note: the best time to see the most manatees is in the morning on a cold day. Travel along the observation area to a lagoon were the lookout area has a polarized lens to better illuminate the manatees. There is also a speaker for you to listen to the manatees under the water. After admiring the manatees continue past the lagoon lookout to the sign labeled "Pine Flatwoods Habitat". When the paths fork, travel to the left. You will see a sign of many languages stating "May Peace Prevail on Earth" on your right. There will be a Riverine Wetland sign in front of you. Before crossing the bridge, on the right side post look down and remove the rock and you will find something where the Manatees will never go. It can be a busy place, so please reposition it carefully.

Make sure to enjoy the park too
