This letterbox is part of the GO York Kids Get Outdoors and Be Creative! program. It will be available from June 6, 2009 – September 7, 2009. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

In addition, the program uses creativity stations – wooden posts with engraved plates on them – instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into the program Sketch Book, available at any York County library.

The letterbox is located at Kids Kingdom (Penn Township). GO York Kids level of difficulty = Easy

1. Begin your trek in the parking lot behind the community building.
2. Walk toward field #1. Find the first baseline in the baseball diamond and walk to the homerun fence. (Do not walk on the field if anyone is playing baseball!)
3. Notice the 200’ sign. Proceed to the outside of the fence and locate the back of the sign.
4. Turn so that your back is to the fence, locate the green birdhouse along the edge of the farmfield and walk to it.
5. Turn left and walk to the pine tree near the back corner of the park.
6. Stand at the pine tree and look toward the field #2 baseball diamond. While facing field #2, turn right and begin counting the number of pine trees as you walk along the homerun fence. (Make sure you count the first pine tree in the previous clue.)
7. When you reach the end of the fence, count back the same number of posts as the number of pine trees you counted. What you seek is at the base of this post.
