UPDATE: July 11, 2010: I was just notified that the box is gone and that someone threatened to call the police on anyone who went looking for the box- that it was on private property. That was not my knowledge AT ALL. I will check it out next time I'm up there, but for the time being, please do not waste your time looking for the box!
Thanks, HKP

Find your way to Livingston Manor (exit 96 off Rt. 17 in Sullivan County, NY) and drive 2 miles towards Roscoe on Old Rt. 17. (More specific driving directions can be found on website of the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum.). Turn left into the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum. Drive over the little wooden bridge and into the parking area. Park in the area for Visitor Parking in front of the first building, which is the Gift Shop. If you like, walk back to the bridge to see the beautiful stream and, in season, fishermen fly-fishing. Looking at the gift shop from the parking area, there is a gravel road heading uphill. There is also a mowed grass path immediately on your left. Take the path. Go approximately 55 steps (casual walking steps, not heel-to-toe steps). You will see an enormous evergreen tree on your right, just a few steps off the path. Walk around the tree to the back (it should be pretty clear on the ground, covered in pinecone seeds). At the base of the tree, hopefully covered with pinecone debris, is the Livingston Manor Trout Letterbox. Please please be sure to re-hide well. This is my first planted letterbox, and I worked very hard on the stamp, and would hate to find it missing. Ink pad and pencil enclosed. Be sure to re-close the box well- it might take a couple of tries to screw it on tightly. Also, be sure to stop into the museum to see the lovely displays and perhaps observe a fly-tying demonstration. Head into town for a lovely day of small-town sight-seeing. Welcome to my home away from home, The Manor!
