Kenneth L. Wilson is a DEC Campground and day use area located on Wittenberg Road approximately 5 miles west of Woodstock. There is a fee to enter unless you park outside or bike ride in. Park in the main parking lot by the small lake and pavilion. Start at the sign-in box for the Beaver Pond Trail(left side of parking lot looking towards the lake). The trail is marked with round yellow markers on trees. You'll find numbered posts along the way. Enjoy the babbling brook and birdsong until you reach the beaver pond. Notice the gnawed trees along the pond edge. How many beaver lodges do you see? Take the side trail to the left and see what the busy beavers have made. Retrace your steps back to the yellow trail and continue uphill away from the pond. The trail forks, stay straight. Watch for the numbered posts along the way. At #10 you're getting close. Dead logs edge the path. At the last log on your right notice two craters in the earth. At the pine tree at the edge of the second crater go right. Admire the partridge berry ground cover. Go straight to the large boulder, up and over it. Dead stump, dead stump, and a pointing rock. Go to the tree and look under the rock. Go back to the trail and continue back to the bridge.
