Elwood Blues, his brother Jake gone, his protege Buster put on a bus back home, and on the run from the law once again, sets out on a journey to find himself. He found "himself" at least three times in Texas, this time on a side quest to see if there were any bridges of interest in Madison county. (There weren't, but he later found out he had the wrong state.)
This is a Blues Brothers themed box, dedicated to Amy's favorite fandom. To learn more about the movies, visit their IMBb Pages (tBB, BB2k), or check out Blues Brothers Central, the largest online Blues Brothers fan community. (You can find her on the message boards if you look carefully.)
Madison County contains one of three tiny towns by the name of Elwood in the state of Texas. The other two are in Van Zandt County and Fannin County. To read more about its history, read the article at the Handbook of Texas Online.
BOX DIRECTIONS
From Madisonville, take East TX-21/US-190. Turn left at FM-2346 for about 6 miles. Turn right at Old San Antonio Road (TX-OSR). Turn left at FM-1119. Turn left on Gin Rd and park at Elwood Cemetery. Take note of its historical marker and little birds on the gate ends and fence corners. Across Gin Rd. from the cemetery, you will see the corner of a fenced-in field. Go along the fenceline into the trees. The large tree closest to the road will have the box hidden at its base by leaves and sticks. Please re-hide well with leaves, but BRING GLOVES, because if we hadn't, I would have gotten a nasty thorn in my thumb. Watch out for spiders, snakes, and thorns/stickers!
Please log your finds here and let us know if the box needs any maintenance.
