7 Mile Park is a 628 acre county park located off of Hwy 169 between North Mankato & St. Peter. There are multi-use trails with equestrian parking & a highway underpass. Several footbridges cross 7 Mile Creek. A boat landing is located on the east side for access to the Minnesota River. It's a beautiful park with new playground equipment, 2 volleyball courts & 3 shelters.

Enter the park on the West side of the Highway and follow the road as far as it will go, then begin your adventure on foot. You will enter the trail by crossing the river over the bridge. Take the trail to the right. Keep right following the edge of the Creek, the trail will wind and curve and you will again cross over the creek on your 2nd bridge. Just before crossing the 3rd bridge you will take Trail number 1 off to your right. Follow around trail 1 until you find where the trail meets the creek again. Look to your left to see a large group of fallen trees in what appears to be a straight line down the hill side. Go off the trail and climb the hill to its crest. There at the top locate the largest tree and take 7 steps west so that you are looking over towards the creek just at the edge of the hill. Look just under the fallen trees, it should be marked with a corn cob and a large tree mushroom. Move the small logs and dig down a bit to find The 7 Mile Flip Flop.

Please replace the logs, corn cob and mushroom as you found them. If you should find this box missing please contact us so we can replace it as soon as possible. camocrew@rocketmail.com
