Took it out for the winter
every comment is like a hug I get a warm felling inside

Park at the upper parking lot at Harris Whalen park, past the playground.

Head to the bocce courts. Enter the woods on the trail behind the bocce courts. The trail will be marked by a Wegmans/Penfield Recreation Fitness marker on a post to the right of the trail.

As you walk on this trail, you will see a bright green "Do Not Litter" sign on a tree set back from the trail. Please follow its instructions while you are in our beautiful park!

Past the sign, keep your eyes out for a smaller path on the right, and turn right. (If you hit a bench on the main trail, you've missed the turn ... but feel free to sit down and take a break and enjoy the woods!)

Head down the path until it comes to a "T." Turn right. Look for a large fallen tree to your left. The letterbox is under the tree.

In honor of Earth Week, when we hid the letterbox, please consider picking up a piece of trash if you see any in the woods!

By the way, if you hear a loud prehistoric bird screech, you are hearing the pileated woodpeckers that live in the woods! Look up, because they are among the largest woodpeckers in North America. They are beautiful birds with red crests on their heads. If you spot big holes in the trees around the letterbox, those are woodpecker nests!
