This letterbox was placed by the Holland Woods After School program. The students worked together to complete these clues. The box is a very short walk (about ¼ mile total) and a fun letterbox for kids to find.

Holland Woods Adventure

Sly the Fox had been looking all over Port Huron for a new place to live. She heard of a magical land called “Holland Woods” and decided to check it out.

Scurrying along Holland Avenue, Sly saw the Holland Woods sign and began to investigate. There was a wide parking lot, and a long school building, but Sly didn’t see any woods! Sly followed the driveway all around the building until she was standing by a sign that read “Principal Parking.”

Looking behind her, Sly saw a tall, green pointy cone standing on its end like a torpedo. It seemed to be marking her starting point to her new home!

The path in front of Sly looked like it may be dangerous. Three webs hung in a row. Sly shuddered in fear of the giant spiders that must be lingering somewhere as she ran past them.

As she sped past the last web, poor Sly ran head first into a hard green pole. Shaking her tail out, she wondered if the pole was some kind of guardian, as it was standing just to the left of a cool, sandy path into the woods. Had Sly finally found the Holland Woods?

Walking straight into the woods, Sly glanced at the number "6", then caught sight of two short blue bunnies hiding in the leaves. She lunged, mouth open. But to her dismay, the blocks of wood only hurt her teeth.

Feeling a little grumpy, Sly began seeking out a place to spend the night. Sly’s eyes pot a number "7", and she headed directly behind it, scampering over a fallen log and scampering over to a tree shaped like the letter "V".

To the left, Sly counted seven skinny sisters and went to stand on the bare patch of sand they stood protecting. With her back to the skinniest sister, she spotted a Mighty Oak with many trunks, and headed straight for it.

There she curled up in the center of the mighty tree, and fell asleep!
