After leaving a protective coating of spores over his communications equipment, the visitor continued on as the path moved steeply uphill. The form he had assumed had little trouble climbing up, but he imagined this hill would discourage casual intruders. The rate of increase of elevation gradually slowed until finally the path more or less leveled out again, winding back and forth, passing a bow shaped tree with a broken fork that resembled a common vowel in his foreign tongue. He passed closely to an abandoned V transmitter to his right with extensive damage to the façade. Approximately 20 steps of the average laden Earth father later, he spotted it to the right. A magnificent triple tower, tall and strong, forking close to the ground. Moving behind it, he assumed a new form that he hoped would blend in, and applied a protective spore coating. Nothing to do now but wait and observe. 2012 would come soon enough.
