The Inland Northwest is not known as a hotbed of peace activism; between the three of them, Mahatma Ghandi, Mother Theresa, and John Lennon probably could not have named a single town in this region. Look closely enough, though, and you’ll find evidence that, even in this unlikely spot, some people have peace on their minds . . .
To the box:
From I-90, travel south on Hwy. 195 until you reach a left-hand exit for Hatch Rd. Turn onto Hatch and travel uphill until you achieve world peace. Park as far to the side as possible. Walk 15 or so steps downhill to a small boulder, and unearth peace beneath its uphill side.
One note: between the time I planted this box and the time I’m listing it, some non-peace lover has defaced the original monument. Fie on him.
