(I wonder whose big red bike that was? What?...was that a battering “ring”?!? Things are starting to get interesting…)

BOX #1
Before a butter can fly, it has to be something else first. Follow these clues to find the answer.

From the parking lot, venture through the big green arch. Gong your way into the Japanese garden. Bells are ringing. Ring the bells. Somewhere between the big gong and the little gong, you will find a little pond. There is a bench just a few steps down the path. Have a seat and contemplate the metal rock stack. Look beyond this sculpture to find two twin giants (Western Reds to be exact). Stand between them looking toward a small “house”. Five paces forward and you’re practically right on top of it. Two stones in an old stump mark the spot. Please make sure that the rubber top is all the way on the letterbox before you re-hide it carefully.

BOX #2
A princess would kiss this just to be sure. Follow clues to find the answer.

Do you like to play croquet? That mallet might be a bit big for you… What is this? It’s a little wooden bridge… (Watch your step! There may be some loose boards and holes in the platform of roots that you are about to walk on!)…You start to cross the bridge, when Ack! an alligator! He looks toward the castle room. The time has come for you to take the throne, your Highness. (Ok, just sit on it. Don’t really take it. It’s just an expression.) Sit still and listen to the flowing music of the water all around you like royal minstrels. Huh? What was THAT noise! Cast your noble gaze to the large cedar tree on your left. Look in a nook behind it, between the tree and the fallen log. There is your little noisy fellow. It wouldn’t be beyond him to eat a butterfly for lunch! Please be sure to seal everything up very well before re-hiding this box. It will help keep the moisture out. Thanks!

The trees has faces in this enchanted grove. You may follow the trail and enjoy the bridges in this watery playland, but do NOT venture into the little house or go beyond any barbed wire fences. Those places are not part of the kingdom and would be considered trespassing on another’s property.

BOX #3
What small creature goes all the way to Southern Mexico for a vacation every winter? Follow clues to find the answer.

To find this stamp, you’ll have to find another creature first. We’ll call him Boris. (There may be more than one Boris in this sculpture park. You are looking for one up high.)

Boris can climb up anything,
He can hide down low in a crack.
Sometimes it’s creepy when you don’t know
Just where he is or when he’ll be back.
Boris has more legs than you,
More than a cat too.
Boris is shiny and larger than life.
His body is made out of….mixing bowls?

When you find Boris, look behind his tree. That is where you will find this stamp. One big rock and two little ones mark the spot. Please make sure to re-seal the bags and the box lid all the way before you re-hide this box. Thank you!

We hope you enjoyed this park! There is another letter box hidden here by a different placer (LaughingGravy). If you don’t already have the clues for “Monarch Sculpture Park”, Here they are: finding the box should be a piece of cake! Take a park map and check out the 100 outdoor sculptures. As you head toward the Butterfly Maze you might feel like a game of croquet. You are getting warmer. Now cross over Spring Creek. The box is not toward the giant hand holding pick up sticks. Continue to the right, passing the Sound Garden, and heading behind the hedge maze. You are looking for the Welman Collection. Watch for sculpture #54. Classical Altar Vessel: hidden contents (if you don't have a guide, look for three women whose legs are holding up a giant egg.) You are getting close now. To the left of the egg as you approach are two trees with a stump in between them. The stump hides your prize. Be sure to re-cover the box so it doesn't go missing again!

This park is a one-of-a-kind find. They also offer art classes here and you can rent it for events. Consider dropping some money into the donation box on your way out. This park is relies on donations and volunteers. Have a great day!
