Even though I am now an avowed agnostic I chose to start my journey with some quite meditation in the chapel dedicated to the founding father of this nation across the pond from my native Kent. I had come here to continue my research for a small volume with the grand tiltle of " The Formation of Vegetable Mould Though the Action of Worms, with Obervations on Their Habits". I proceeded down the paved pathway in the genral direction of the river. I found a pedestrian crossing of the river next to a busy roadway.
I then decided to walk along the river trail in the direction of the so called Fatlands. I passed a spot where the spring thaw had taken out a bridge of some import. I traveled along this trail for about a quarter of a mile. I spied a quite large sycamore tree on my right and decided to investigate it's root system. This large tree was a good ways off the trail in the distance and might be hard to spot in full summer. I was dissapointed to find no worms but spied another large tree due west about 17 paces away. This looked like an ideal spot for worms.
