Lake Casa Blanca International State Park is a nice oasis near the border with Mexico and is home to many different types of wildlife. It is part of the Laredo Loop described on the Heart Of Texas Wildlife Trail - East map. One of the birds you might see is the summer tanager, the only entirely red bird in North America. Even if you don't see a live one, the one in this box will be waiting for you.

Directions:
In Laredo, go east on Hwy 59 to Bob Bullock Loop (loop 20) and go north about 1 mile to Lake Casa Blanca SP on the right. Pay the entrance fee, get a map and go left to the rock barn by Day Use Area E and park.

Clues:
Walk behind the rock barn, past the BBQ pit, down a hill and a little left to a dirt trail. Go left and walk 25 steps from a log across the trail entrance. Turn left and walk 13 steps on a faint trail toward the fence. Look right for a multi-trunk tree 4 steps away. The microbox is hanging 1 foot high. Please leave attached to the branch.
