There are a couple of trails that go around Douthat Lake. One of these trails goes through the beach, but personally, I suggest walking along the other side.

About halfway along this trail, there is a wooden bench that overlooks the lake and gives you a really good view of the beach. It's well worth sitting down for a break from walking to enjoy the view of the water.

Once here, you may or may not have noticed a few lizards running about on the trail, if not, don't fret, I happen to know where one lives year-round.

While sitting on the bench look on the far side of the trail to your right. There, you may notice two trees growing in the same spot. One of these trees has a small hole in its base. Inside the hole, this small lizard likes to show off his balancing skills on top of a small stick.

Move the stick, and it's very likely he'll fall down, but he won't be too upset if you give him a friend and help him regain his balance afterward.
