Poor little fish who is small in size,
Hiding from big birds with hungry eyes.
He flopped up on shore at Heron Run Trail,
Hoping a tree will cover his tail.

He found an old tree all twisted and sore,
So he jumped out of the water on a protruding shore.
He flopped on the trail and slipped up a hill
and found a hole where he now stays so still.

From his home, he looks south to the beach,
Noticing the water is just out of reach.
But here he stays and waits for so long,
For an adventurous hiker to come along.

It's a really nice and easy hike. Douthat employees have just fixed the trail so it is even easier of a hike. Kids can easily hike this trail and still have energy to spare, but bring a little water for hot days. Make sure you bring a stamp pad with you when you go get the letterbox!

If you need another clue, read the following text. If you want to take a chance off of the poem alone, READ NO MORE!

CLUE: Walking from Lakeside Campground to Heron Run Trail, the letterbox is located on the first curve of the trail. At the point of the curve, you should have a really clear view of the beach and the boat dock (if you have a compass, looking at the boat dock will make you facing south).

Turn around and face north (approx) and look at the hill. Just a few steps of a climb should lead you to a twisted and forked tree....
