~This box was formerly located at the Salmon River State Forest in East Hampton, CT. Due to some "unsavory" happenings, Santa decided to find a new vacation spot for his off season.

From route 148 west in Chester, turn left on to route 145 south. This is just after Cedar Lake Road. Travel along route 145 entering Deep River.

You will be looking for a wooden state forest sign that says;
Cockaponset State Forest
Truck Trail Rd...

Park in the parking area here.

Go around the yellow gate and walk on the wide road.

You will pass the first five letters of the alphabet on the left and on the road (not sure what these are for though??)

Continue walking along the wide road.

You will come to a wide right turn that is NOT blocked by boulders.

There is also a huge, gnarly, old Oak and Beech Tree hanging out together at this intersection.

Turn right here.

You will pass a stone wall on the left.

After this, the trail curves right.

A few steps more will bring you to a large, mossy-based Oak.

Stop here and look right to see a short section of stone wall.

Look on the back side of the closer end, behind a trap door to find this letterbox.

You will need to bring ink with you for this box.

Also, if you found this in its former location, you may still want to look for this again, as it may have something extra..

Flutterby~
