The Wamesit Indians lived right here!! That’s very cool. They were a friendly Indian and partnered with the early Settlers in this region. They learned from the Settlers and the Settlers learned from the Indians. They lived in harmony. Every year, Indians from around the country come here to pay tribute. It’s a site worth visiting. Good luck finding my box!

Travelling Rte 495 South, take Exit # 38 Route 38 Tewksbury. Take a left off the exit ramp going under 495. Pass a Walmart on the right side. Pancake house on the left side. Immediately following Pancake house is Old Main St. Take left onto Old Main St and Wamesit park is immediately on the right. Look for the Indian statue on the large rock!

Stand in front of the Indian statue and stare him in the eye.
Now Turn around 180 degrees – facing the traffic lights and gas stations – with the Indian statue to your back.
Walk 44 paces.
As you walk you will see many large boulders lining the park and the road.
As you hit your 44th pace, you will see two side by side “flat” boulders.
Hidden in between, is your surprise!
Thanks for visiting!
