El Segundo is Spanish for "The Second" and is so named because it was the location of the second Standard Oil refinery built on the west coast, now known as Chevron Refinery, which dominates the majority of the city.
This box appears to have been removed by a groundskeeper, and the signs mentioned in the clues are no longer there anyhow. The intent of this series was to increase the number of boxes in the South Bay, but others have now taken up that charge, so I feel no need to replace this. |
