In his teens, Greg Ginn had a small business called Solid State Tuners that modified WWII surplus radios. In 1978, he changed it into a record label in order to release the first album for his band Black Flag. SST Records went on to be one of the most influencial indie labels of the 1980s, with a roster that included such bands as Sonic Youth, Husker Du, The Minutemen, Dinosaur Jr, Bad Brains, Soundgarden and many others. Their business address was PO Box 1, Lawndale.
This is a very urban drive-by box, reflecting the hardcore-punk ethos of the label. Where two boulevards meet (but not three), follow the hypotenuse to the exterior of a parking structure. At the upper entrance is a 50,000 lb sign, a tree and a rock.
When you're finished, make sure the logbook and the stamp are in a bag, then in the second bag. And yes, I know the stamp is backwards. I recarved in a hurry when it came up missing. |
