This box was retired in 2010 after reports that it was missing were confirmed. However, today, 9-5-15, it was accidentally found and its location was described as at the base of a tree under a brick, which could describe the original location. If you find it, please confirm that the clues are correct. Thanks!

Proudly proclaimed Texas State Photographer in 1997 by the Texas State Legislature and then Governor George Bush, Wyman Meinzer is renowned for his wildlife, landscape, architecture, and portrait photography. Wyman lives in Benjamin, Texas with his wife, Sylinda, in an old 1887 jailhouse. I am an admirer of his work and decided to replicate one of his wildlife photographs, the coyote, into a stamp for this letterbox. The stamp does not do the photograph justice, of course, but that was expected. Learn more about his work at: http://www.wymanmeinzer.com/

Directions:
Benjamin is the county seat of Knox County and is located at the intersection of Highways 6 and 82, 90 miles north of Abilene. From the courthouse, go south on Hwy. 6. Just outside of town, which is not far, there is a green sign pointing to Benjamin Cemetery, and you can see it to your left, about a quarter of a mile away. Turn east on Ivy Street to the cemetery and enter at the north gate. Drive all the way to the south end of the entry road and park.

To the Box:
Look to the left for a marker that is shaped like a lectern with an open Bible on top. This stone marks the grave of Benjamin C. Bedford. From his marker, take a compass reading of 200 degrees, to a tree just before you get to the south fence of the cemetery. You’ll find the coyote in the tree under two bricks.
