~It is that time of year again. My little "determined ball of fluff" (in the words of a great letterboxer)has enjoyed another birthday. No matter what I ask her to do, or where I ask her to go, she is ready and willing as soon as I pick up my bag. She has done 10+ mile hikes and been over some very rugged terrain. She waits at the box until she hears it snap shut, and then she is up and ready to go again. At the top of a mountain I was asked by another couple how I could carry her up there. When I responded that she walked herself, they were amazed.

So, for my tough little girl that has to chant "I think I can, I think I can" from time to time, here is another letterbox that celebrates her determination.

There is no ink in the box, but black would be perfect.

Make your way to Spring Lake Road in Sterling, CT. Find where the Moosup Valley State Park Trail crosses the road. After parking, without blocking the gate, head westerly on the paved path.

After a bit you will cross a really cool wood planked bridge.

When you get to the other side, the path is no longer paved, but still a nice trail.

Walk along for a bit and notice when you have rock on either side of you, ledge to the right and a rock wall to your left.

When these both end, count 50 steps more and stop.

You should have a small "cubby" (I have no idea what this was.)on your left.

Go in the "cubby" and look at the top left corner under a rock or two for the box.

When you have finished, please naturalize this spot as much as possible to help the box last.

Retrace your steps to get back to your car.

Flutterby~
