The "Ike Relief" letterbox memorializes the 2008 Hurricane that devestated the Galveston coastal area, and is meant to give some relief to all the pain this storm caused. It is located in Mahan Park, which has baseball fields, playground area and is along Highland Bayou.

Directions:
Going south on I-45, exit the Hwy 519/Main street exit at Texas City. On the feeder, go to Hwy 519 and turn right. Very soon the road T's. Go left (which is Lake Road)and go past the flood bank. Turn right on Woodland rd and go to 2nd enterance to the park. Turn left into the park, and go right along the baseball fields. At end of last field, turn right on road that goes around playground. To about 100 yards and park along road near the 2 picnic tables that are on the left.

To the Letterbox:
Look across the road and find the bayou, then look right and find the pine tree area. Locate the White cross that is in between. Walk to that cross. From the cross, walk left toward the bayou, along the hedge, for 5 steps. Go into the bushes to the multi tree base. Box is in front of the biggest tree, covered with stuff.
