This is a two-fer! One is outside and one inside; just ask at the greeter's stand. If you are able join us for service, its at 11am (on Sunday) and we would love to meet you. (If you come by and notice that the church is unlocked, just ask anyone for the stamp.) Now for the story of flat Wesley...

First, you'll notice that I am flat. I will tell you more about that later in the story. For now it's enough to know that my journey in life has had its ups and downs. Sometimes the world can seem so restless and full of despair. Other times, I have seen the love and compassion of God all around. The church and my faith have always been important to me for providing direction and encouragement. Now, I am traveling again to experience how your church is living as faithful disciples' of Christ and influencing the world of God.
Secondly, as you have noticed, my name is "Wesley" and that is no cioncidence. I've been told that in my early days (before I became flat), I was quite a guy. I was known about the country as somewhat of a rebel, always involved in social justice issues such as prison reform, people's rights, and even a bit of politics. One of my most important activities was to travel about the contryside preaching and forming bands of "believers". Churches both large and small sprung up and were places for believers to grow in the Christian faith. Today, those are called United Methodist Churches and I am out riding the circuit again to spend some time with each one.
Lastly, how did I become flat? Well, just as the original story of flat Stanley is told, I was flattened when a bulletin board fell on me. I survived and made the best of my altered state of existence. Soon I was sliding into room through the opening at the bottom of a closed door and posing as a picture on the wall I listened in on meetings, attended church services, squeezed myself into the church newsletter and visited people in their homes. I have done all kinds of crazy things, and I am hoping that I have countless great adventures still to come.
See you around,
Flat Wesley

P.S. Right now, I'm hiding in the bushes by the glass fellowship hall doors. Don't tell anyone!!

Remember to bring your own ink pad.
