You'll find this box in Hickory Creek Preserve - LaPorte Road Access. Park entrance is located on LaPorte Road, 1.0 miles east of Wolf Road, in Mokena.
Park in the last parking lot. Locate the paved trail at the southern end of the parking lot. Head out on the paved trail. It will be about a 15-20 minute walk.
Eventually you'll cross a bridge and head up a hill. On the way up the hill you will see a park bench on the east side of the trail. Not far behind the bench you will see a large hollow log with one end raised above the ground. Go to the low end of the log laying on the ground. If you go behind the log, you should find the box tucked into the open end of the log.
Have a seat on the park bench and stamp away.
This box is placed about halfway in on this trail. When you're done marking the book and replacing the box, you can continue on to the end of the trail before turning around. Enjoy you stroll.
There is an ink pad inside.
I meant to pop in a pen too, but came home to find the pen still on my table. Be sure to bring one. I will get back soon to place a pen.
