Mystery Breed # Eight is hidden in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lima, Ohio. This beautiful old cemetery is on St. Rt. 117, which can be accessed from I-75 by exiting on 309 at exit 125. Just follow 117 through town and you'll eventually see Woodlawn Cemetery, and across from it the Faurot Park, which also now has a couple of boxes.

The object of the Mystery Breed boxes is for you to email me at Atlas Quest after you have found the box to let me know if you can identify which breed of dog the stamp represents!

Here is a little information regarding this breed from AKC: It seems most possible that this breed developed from stock that resulted from the breeding of heavy Asian Mokosser, brought to Helvetia (Switzerland) by Roman armies during the first two centuries AD, with native dogs which undoubtedly existed in the region at the time of the Roman invasions. The dogs served as guard dogs of the Hospice located in the Pass (founded by Archdeacon Bernard de Menthon), and the lonely Monks, who took the dogs along on their trips of mercy, soon discovered the excellent path finding and scent abilities of this breed. The dogs highly developed sense of smell enabled the breed to locate the freezing and helpless during snowstorms.

Continue on from Mystery Breed # Seven and follow the path around the curve to the left.
When you come to the intersection go right where the path Ys and see the bush on the right near four tombstones bearing the name of "Mines". This little bush is where you will find what you seek.

Please have your pets spayed or neutered.
