Located only minutes from the bustle of downtown Boston, the MDC Blue Hills Reservation stretches over 7,000 acres from Quincy to Dedham, Milton to Randolph, providing a green oasis in an urban environment. Rising above the horizon, Great Blue Hill reaches a height of 635 feet, the highest of the 22 hills in the Blue Hills chain. From the rocky summit visitors can see over the entire metropolitan area. With its scenic views, varied terrain and 125 miles of trails, the Blue Hills Reservation offers endless hours of enjoyment for the outdoor enthusiast.

Take the Jefferies trail from the Base path. You will pass over a stream and turn to the right and up. When you are going up look for a hollow tree. At the top of the embankment the "hawk" will be at your right. Standing on the path with the hollow tree at your right 70 degrees, walk 26 1/2 steps NNW (between 280 to 340 degress. Sorry I don't know the exact amount, but it is obvious.) 2 rocks protect the box in it's spot in the outcrop, so please replace them after you're done with the letterbox. If you want you can strart from the skyline, but you might have trouble finding the path. Before you hike stop at the museum to buy a map, cost about 2$.

This is letterbox #2 placed by Mr. Wind-up Hiker
