The beauty, amount of wildlife seen and the solitude on this trail never ceases to amaze me. Today while planting I saw a Golden Eagle, a Great Horned Owl and 3 Bluebirds. You see even more wildlife in the spring. The inspiration for this box is the golden color of the Aspens this time of year as they are interspersed with the Ponderosa Pine. They were at their peak today and it was a warm sunny day.

Distance: Approx. 11 miles round trip from either direction

Transportation: Mountain Bike or Horse

Supplies Needed: Sunscreen, WATER, gloves (rattlesnake country although I have still never seen one in WA state), bright colors during hunting season!

Hitchhiker Friendly?: only if small

***This box is not reccomended for small children due to steep drop-offs.***

You can access this box from either of the two trailheads:
"Ancient Insects are trapped in this" ___________
"This former teacher's college old mascot
were called 'Savages' _______________
Name of Trail(scrambled): aaaabceiilllmoprttuu ________ _______ ___________

Travel from either trailhead until you reach the Southern boundry of "lubtlurn"_______________

It will be between mile marker ____ (18 squared + 3(10)) and _____ (2400 divided by 8 + 5(11)).

To the Box: From which ever direction you travel on this pleasant trail you will come to the boundry sign near a gate. On the same side as the sign head off to the side and then parallel to the trail uphill along a faint game path. You will pass a grouping of 3 big basalt boulders on your left then a fourth one. Just before you get to the highest point of this area you will see the 'largest' tree between you and the drop off to the trail. The box is nestled on your side of the tree and covered with one rock and pine needles. There are quite a few lower branches so you probably have to get on your hands and knees. Please re-hide well and enjoy the quiet!
