It is well known that letterboxing has helped many people with their
physical problems. This Trail of Fears series is designed to help deal with mental
ones as well. Some commonly occurring irrational hangups can be
overcome by employing the highly successful treatment known as
"encounter therapy". Compared to consulting a psychiatrist, you can
amortize the cost of your gas for letterboxing in one easy session.

Cyclophobia , the fear of bicycles, can easily be conquered by letterboxing.

To get to the box get to Welch Village and to Welch Station, the trail center for the Cannon Valley Trail. Park at the east end of the parking lot. Sit there a while and observe the large variety of bikes (one-speed, twenty-one speed, steel, titanium, single, tandem, side-by-side, recumbent, uni-, etc.) and the variety of large bikers. From the east end of the lot sneak across the trail. Go east for twenty paces along the trail and the south for forty paces. You should be in the vicinity of a stump which contains the box.

Until Nov. 1 there is a $3/day or $20/year pass required for biking or rollerblading on the trail. Otherwise it's free.
