The Hatchling

**********8/23/09 - The Hatchling has flown the coop. Hoping to replant some time soon, but no promises.********

Soar into the parking lot off Route 225 that will take you on your adventure on the AT to find this curious remnant of days gone by. Once you have landed head toward Georgia over the bridge and busy road.

Hike on…

Pass the large structure and hike on…

Stop for lunch at the cairn on the left side of the trail that Black Swan built, while I munched my lunch.

Hike on…

Careful crossing that large log “step” on the trail.

Hike on…

Double, single, single, single, single, double-double…

(Don’t worry they are close together.)

From Double-double, due north to Large Pine.

From Large Pine due north to Large Oak.

Obligatory SPOR.

If you reach the “tombstone rocks” at the only vista on the left, too far. We suggest going there anyway, great view of the Susquehanna south. Of course I forgot to take a picture!

Important Notes:
1. This trail is cool, but would not recommend it for small children or those afraid of heights or poison ivy.
2. Be careful entering and exiting the parking lot.
3. Might want to research for some other treasures up that way.
4. Eat your vegetables.
5. Hug those you love often.
6. By now you know that Black Swan thinks 4 and 5 are lame and therefore you know, because I know how to post, they stay.
