Walking distance: about 1/8 mile one way
Stamp hand-carved
Status: alive and well on April 3, 2009

This box is in Davis Mtns. St. Pk. off of State Highway 118 west of Ft. Davis. Enter the park and park by the hiking trail (no trail name) trailhead which is across the road from the swings & slide in camping sites 88-94 loop.

Walk UP the trail for about 1/8 mile or so until it reaches a moderate size gully. The trail will make a left turn and in a short distance turn left again. From that second left turn, continue up the trail for about 40 steps to a small Mesquite Tree on the right side of the trail. Behind it is a small Juniper Tree. The box is behind the Juniper under a flat rock covered with some plant debris. Be alert for snakes.

Please please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag), and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide the box well under the rock and cover with plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.

I will not be able to check on this box; so, please let me know if you find it, or if it needs attention or is missing: http://home.att.net/~azroadie/letterboxing.html

Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ or at www.atlasquest.com/ .
