Walking distance: very short
Stamp hand-carved
Status: alive and well on July 15, 2010

From U. S. Highway 191 about 4 miles south of Blanding, turn west on State Highway 95. Look for the “7110 Ft.” elevation sign at mile post 97. Park in the gravel pullout on the left (south) side of the highway.

From the large wooden sign giving the history of the hill, go at about 150 degrees (from mag. north) across the gully to a huge boulder with a very conspicuous split through it. To its left is a large flat boulder showing just above the ground surface and broken into about 6 or 7 pieces. The box is in the left end of the large crack running through the flat boulder and against a very weathered log. The box is covered with some rocks and plant debris.

Please please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag), and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide the box well under the rocks and cover with plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.

I will not be able to check on this box very often; so, please let me know if you find it, or if it needs attention or is missing:
