Head north out of Emily on Hwy 6 to Blue Lake Road.
Turn left on Blue Lake Road and travel about 2 miles to a small wooden bridge over Crooked Creek. From the bridge travel approximately .6 miles to a road on the left marked with a “Public Water Access” sign.
Turn left at the road and continue a little way until a fork in the road.
Stay right at the fork to the boat landing at Allen Lake.
Walk down the hill to the lakeshore. Take note of the boulder on the left side (looking at the lake).
From the boulder turn left and travel along the lakeshore (could be wet or dry depending on the weather and/or time of year) for approximately 170 steps to a larger boulder near the water’s edge.
From the boulder, turn left and look up the hill. Take note of the fallen tree on the right and start up the hill keeping the fallen tree on your right (about 6-10 feet away).
Up the hill about 10 yards (maybe a bit more) is a tall oak tree. Rest against the tree looking up the hill.
Look to the left up the hill for a broken tree stump (not too far, but far enough).
The tree stump is hollow. Look inside. It’s a tight fit. Please return it as you found it. Enjoy!
