Indian Creek Campground
Queen Lacey the Wonder Beagle. She is so named because she wonders why humans are not constantly giving her treats for being so darn cute.
Queen Lacey loves going to Indian Creek Campground. She loves it because when she goes there the humans always give her treats. In honor of the best treat receiving campground in the whole world Queen Lacey requested that her humans place a letterbox there.
On Highway 128 about 5 miles past Boonville you will see a sign on the right for Indian Creek Rd., just past that, also on your right, you will see a sign with a tent on it. This is telling you that the turn for Indian Creek Campground will be coming up soon. If you get to downtown Philo you’ve gone about 200 yards too far.
Park in the day use area if you would like this to be a drive-by, the day use fee is $2.00. If you decide to camp in this beautiful little redwood grove be aware that it is first-come, first-serve and you pay $20 to camp.
From the day use area there is a trail on the left that starts out with a sign telling you that Dogs Must Be On A Leash. Lacey is not particularly fond of this sign but she understands that it is for her own good—there is poison oak around here!
Indian Creek Nature Trail. Don't go the way of Liam.
Hop over the downed redwood tree using the steps so conveniently cut for a small beagle. But before your feet hit the ground on the other side look to your left on this fallen redwood. There, in a crack by the steps, about knee-high is Queen Lacey and her campsite scene covered with bark.
The Campsite Host - Jim - knows about the box, we asked permission. Those steps make a nice stamping seat.
Please re-seal well in the double bags.
