The Brookfield Woods is located on 31st Street, west of 1st Ave. It is also the start/end of the Salt Creek Trail.

East of the parking lot is a large open field. I often see Canadian Geese here, which provided the inspiration for this box.

West of the parking lot is a small open area. Cross the drainage ditch at the land bridge with the wood fence. Continue straight until you reach the woods. There are several paths you can take into the woods, pick one. Walk about 30 steps until you reach a more defined path going north/south. You’ll know it’s the right path when you see the phone/electric lines above you. Turn right and continue north, following the telephone poles. Keep walking for a bit. When you see a brown rock on your left, you are getting close. Up ahead, there will be tree branches across the path and a tall dead looking tree on your right. This tree is missing its branches and top. At the base of this tree and the small tree next to it, you will find the box.

This is also a great place to see deer, I saw one as I was placing the box.

Please make sure everything is sealed tightly and hidden when you are done!
