Nottawa Stone School
26456 M-86
Nottawa, MI 49075
Updated 10/4/2008 - at end...
Park in the lot for the "modern" school.
Stroll around front. Find the 2 engraved stones for the district number and the year the school was built.
Continue around the building (we peeked in all the windows!)
Find the outhouse on the East side.
Continue around, find the tree with a funny knob on the South side.
On the West side of the building, count the windows = school district. Count the shutters = the last digit of the zip code. Behind that shutter you will find what you seek.

The box was placed on a Sunday. If you go during the week, the museum may be open to school tours and/or many curious eyes upon you. Please be discreet and re-hide well.

UPDATE 10/4/08 - Well! I've had boxes go missing, of course, but never as quickly as this!
New clues: From the knobby tree, head back towards the outhouse the number of steps of the century the school was built. Take the number of steps of the district towards the building. Look at the ramp. Find the lattice. Find the key tucked behind it.
