This box is in honor of one of my bestest friends, Andy. (although some letterboxers might know her as A. Dawn Sings) A couple of years ago, she placed a letterbox for just me as a special birthday present, and now I'm returning the favor. The box name is a reference to a song by the Killers, which has not much in common with Andy besides the name...and the fact that she's a star in my book.

Clues:

This box is in Morrison Rockwood State Park. Enter the park and follow the signs to the restaraunt. (which has great coffee and lets you dine nearly bug free while still enjoying the view of the lake) Across the parking lot, you'll see a boat launch and flag pole. Go past these and the memorial benches until you see a trail entering the woods. Go twenty one paces (two steps=1 pace) along this path until a smaller path appears on your right. Follow this smaller path until it lets you out onto a widish grassy path. Go right along the edge of the water until you go up an incline to a tree with a very distinctive root base. There's lots of good nooks and crannies in that root base, but noone quite right for placing a letterbox.. This tree is just a decoy. Opposite this tree on the path is the real hiding spot. Circle behind and find Andy. Please help keep my friend safe and dry, by resealing carefully and being discrete in this busy park.

The day i placed this box the water below that tree was filled with lily pads and one of the people with me told us all a quick toaist story. So here goes. If you look at the lily pads, some of them sit on the surface of the water, some of them grow above the water reaching for the sun, and some never make it above the water level. The thing that they all have in common though is that they are all lily pads.
