These five boxes are located inside the International Peace Gardens, which is part of Jordan Park (about 900 West and 1000 South in Salt Lake City). We suggest that you print off this map of the gardens (http://internationalpeacegardens.org/GardenMap.htm) and take it with you to help you find the boxes more efficiently!
Special Note: The International Peace Gardens are only open from May 1st through September 30th from dawn until dusk. They are a beautiful place to picnic and enjoy many cultures.
Box #1: China – in the Chinese gardens find the two lions and walk between them. Then follow the gravel path as it curves to the left passing a bridge (also on your left). Once you see the bridge on your left walk forward approximately fifteen more steps. You will then see a set of bushes and trees on your right. Find the tree with the many tangled roots. Notice the large rock to the southeast of this tree (still in the same patch of bushes). The box is located under this rock.
Box #2 – United States – find the American flag nestled between two other flags. From that point walk north to the American Peace Garden Monument. From the monument walk directly east to the fence. Walk north along the fence until you reach the second LARGE patch of bushes (if you hit the red house you’ve gone too far!). Find the first tunnel opening (under the branches) in that set of bushes. You will find the box through that small opening and between the back of the bush and the fence.
Box #3 – Ireland – in the Irish gardens find the Irish flag. From there walk south (towards the fence) counting the boulders on your left (which are on the border between the Irish gardens and the Vietnamese gardens). Find the third boulder. You will find the box hidden at the west side of this boulder, nestled behind some rocks. Pull out the smaller rocks to find it!
Box #4 – Holland – in Holland’s garden you will need to find the flag. From the flag walk east passing Holland’s flower garden on your right and ending at the patch of bushes on your right. When you reach this patch of bushes turn north and walk towards the line of trees. You will find the box hidden in the center of the “trunk” belonging to the first set of trees. It is covered with debris. Please rehide this box carefully and cover with lots more debris to keep it hidden!
Box #5 – Brazil – in Brazil’s gardens find the Brazilian flag. From there locate the paved path to your right. Travel up the hill (headed Southwest) on this path towards the bridge over Jordan River. When you reach the bridge do not cross it, rather walk around to the left side of it. Underneath the left side of this bridge, hidden by two beams and some debris, you will find the box. Please rehide well.
Please note that all of these places have the potential to be high traffic areas. Please be discreet and rehide all the boxes well.
