~Not Forgotten~

Chattahoochee Indian Heritage Center 561 Hwy 165 Fort Mitchell, AL

-Follow the road uphill to the right for parking.

-Read about the “Creek Trail of Tears” then follow the concrete path leading further up the hill.

-While remembering “our origins” read about “Today’s Southeastern Indians”.

-Continue to read about the “Sacred Fire” and the “Square Grounds”.

-After walking through the metal rails, follow the concrete path to the left.

-This path will lead you to the Census of 1832.

-Move on to take a closer look at the Sacred Fire.

-While standing in front of the Sacred Fire look towards the “Indian Ball Ground for a scenic view.

-Walk towards the stone wall and after you’ve enjoyed the view, walk the asphalt path to the left.

-Soon you will find a beaten path on the left that offers information on the local plants.

-As you walk this path look for the “Black Jack Oak”.

-The bush on the left of the Black Jack Oak is where you’ll log some memories of your own, while remembering the people who are gone but not forgotten.
