"It is as elusive as the search for Atlantis, as tangled in legend as the quest for the Holy Grail. For nearly a century, historians have trolled stacks of dusty tomes in hopes of unearthing the origins of baseball." Find this box and walk amidst the legends and the polecats. We claim the fame of being the home to baseball since 1825 and invite you to Crawford Field. Park at the Hamden General Store. Cross the street towards the Hamden Inn. Walk west to Launt Hollow Road. Turn right and walk a short distance up the road.

Look to your left for a grass driveway to a baseball field.

Walk to home plate.

Take 15 child steps backwards until you reach a concrete wall.

Look to your left for a rock wall behind one of the dug outs. This used to be a ramp to a bank barn when most of this land was a dairy farm.

Walk to the rock wall and look behind the rocks on the left lower corner. Welcome to Crawford Field!
