I hadn’t caught a fish all year. Dey told me down at Brown’s dat da fish was bitin’ at Little Lake campground so I packed up my gear and a cold tuna fish and ketchup sandwich and headed for da lake.

After about an hour at da boat launch without even a nibble, I decided to follow my gut (or perhaps it was da tuna) and stick wit my lucky number 14! After I found it, I seen a trail into da woods at almost due Nord.

From da head of dat der trail I walked about 40 steps til I noticed all da fallen trees and dat I was headin away from da lake. So I took a quick left and was enjoyin’ da stroll until I tripped and fell goin down a little hill and dropped my tackle box all over da place. After another 45 steps I took a break at a large Eastern Hemlock.

I continued on da path into da woods until I saw a big pink rock (dey make dose ya know). I tipped dat bugger over and caught me some nice, wiggly worms for bait! From dat point on I knew I had made da right choice and was definitely feelin lucky!

I followed da trail along da lake after ducking under a funny, twisted, leaning tree until I saw before me what I taught at first was just a boardwalk leading to nowheres. It didn’t take long for me to find out dat dis here spot was my new lucky fishin hole! After gettin all rigged up, it only took about 20 minutes of catchin sunnies and perch left and right for me to be left plum out of worms.

Little Lake and da Good Lord left me satisfied dat day, so to commemorate such a momentous occasion, I carved a little somethin’ and left it in my worm box, about 6 ft from da end of da boardwalk, for udders to enjoy.
