Wild Flower

This letterbox is hidden on the Willow Creek Trail in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon Road.

The trailhead is 11.8 miles from traffic light at Ft. Union & Wasatch.

Or you can find the trailhead by going 0.4 miles up the road from the Silver Fork Restaurant.

Markings by trailhead:

Engraved rock that says Willow Heights Conservation Area at entrance to
trail.

Red sign "No Motorized Vehicles" at entrance to trail opposite the rock.
(both are easy to drive right by.)

2 Yellow road signs on north side of road (visible to read only coming down
the canyon, going up you just see the backs) indicate curves ahead and
35mph.

Park on Big Cottonwood Canyon Road. There is a rock that marks the entrance to the trailhead. Walk up the trail and you’ll see a detailed trail sign on your right.

Go past the trailhead sign 55-60 paces and look for a rock in the middle of the trail. You’ll see 1 black rock on your left.

Take 4 more steps up the trail and you’ll see 3 black rocks on your left. The letterbox is behind the largest rock, in front of 2 Aspen trees. The box is hidden under smaller rocks.

Make sure to leave time to hike up to Willow Lake, about ¾ miles from your car. It’s a lovely lake with a beaver lodge and it's a place we’ve seen moose several times.

Enjoy! Music Maker and The Snowflake
