~I spent a wonderful morning with my three pups and two friends hiking some great trails and planting some boxes. I hope you have as much fun as I did.

There is no ink in these boxes, but brown and black will do nicely.

There is one log book for the series in the final box.

**BE SURE TO WEAR BLAZE ORANGE DURING HUNTING SEASON AND TO USE IT FOR ANY CANINE COMPANIONS TOO**

Directions:
Head down route 16 towards Colchester from the intersection with route 207 for ~1.5 miles. There you will find a green gate on your left near the road. Parking here is a bit tough and you may want to park about .1 mile before this at the Bartlett Brook Wildlife Management area. This is also on the left. Travel down the dirt entrance and park near the signboard. This will add ~ .2 mile to your journey on foot.

Clues:
Either walk around the gate if you parked there and begin or if you parked down lower, walk back out to route 16 and walk up the road about .1 mile to the gate and begin.

You will start out on a nice, wide trail. There was recently logging done here and there are some very nice open spots.

Walk until you come to the first trail on you right. Turn right here and walk through a stone wall. Turn right and face a two sister tree against the wall. Look low in the wall to the left of the tree for the first box, The Foxy Fox. He just loves getting into the hen house and having a snack.

Go back out to the main trail and continue on. If you listen carefully you just may hear the sound of clucking as you walk along, off to your right.

The trail will turn right through a stone wall. Stop when you walk through it and turn right. Walk ~13 steps along the wall to a two sister yellow Birch tree. Look low in the wall to the left of the tree for the second box, The Crafty Cat.

Continue on in the direction you were heading. Very quickly you will come to some very wet, muddy spots. After passing through these you will start going uphill for a spell. You will come to a level section where another faint trail comes in from the right and then go uphill a little more. At the top, I could have sworn I heard the tiny scritching of a little mouse coming from my left.

Turn right here and you will be walking on a nice, wide, dirt road. Today there were some huge puddles in the middle of it!! Go to the second stone wall that veers off at an angle away from the trail on the right. {This is just before pole #356.} Walk 9 steps from the start of the wall and stop. There should be a small, very white, rock at the base of it. Go over the wall and look about midway down for the third box, The Lucky Lion.

When I returned to the main trail, I glanced to my right and could have sworn I saw an Antelope running down the trail on the left up ahead...
In any case I turned left to head back the way that I came.

When you get to that big intersection go straight/East/downhill this time. At the bottom of the first hill, where it levels off a bit, see a stone wall on your left. Go to the far side and walk along the wall for 9 steps to a three sister tree. Look low in the wall to the right of the tree for the fourth box, The Scary Spider.

Go back out to the trail and turn left. Continue downhill, bear right and go through a stone wall with the trail. I think I heard some buzzing coming from my right here. You will very quickly be walking "below the water". Yup, that's right! Below it!!! I hope you have waterproof shoes on ;-)

Once you cross this area you will start heading uphill again.
Stop when you come to a trail on your left. Turn around and walk back ~10 steps. Stop. Look left and go uphill through an opening in a short stonewall. Stop. Turn left and go 3 steps. Look very low in the wall here to find the final box, The Artful Anteater.

When I came back out to the trail, I glanced right and saw a line of ants marching two by two.

If you brought clues to another box {my own adopted one} you can head down that trail on the left that you turned around at and get an EIGHT YEAR OLD THIS MONTH!! box.

Turn around and retrace your steps to find your way back to your vehicle.

Enjoy yourself,
Flutterby~

P.S. All of my hunters have recently become vegetarians and so their prey is safe here 8-)
